Species Language; includes reading and writing.

Everyone is considered to be fluent in their native language and would not normally roll for reading/writing. A level of d8 is considered fluent and wouldn’t require rolls to understand words (either spoken or written). With a d10, you start to be able to pass as a local, with a d12 being indistinguishable from a native.
